Compost

We take compost seriously at our farm because well-made, properly finished compost is crucial for growing healthy, productive plants. That’s why ours takes six months to complete.

We only use naturally occurring ingredients — horse manure, food waste, and mulch from ground landscape waste. We take special care to turn the pile when the temperature reaches 130-140 degrees.

Our compost is ideal for southwest gardens due to its water holding capacity, pathogen fighting ability, and nutrient delivery properties. Pair it with a sprinkle of our castings and a layer of our mulch for the perfect garden.

Our U-Scoop area is always open with our screened compost!  Bring your own buckets or containers.

  • $2/5 gallon bucket scoop

Bags of screened compost are 1.5 cubic feet in size. The bags are heavy and our staff are always happy to load your vehicle.

  • $8/bag

Bulk is available for delivery and pickup. Call us for booking.

Raised Bed Mix by @Growing In the Garden

Angela from Growing In The Garden custom designs this raised bed soil mix for southwest gardeners in Arizona's, often tricky, growing zones. She blends our six-month finished compost and worm castings with coco coir and coarse vermiculite for optimal water retention and basalt dust for mineralization. Add this ready-made blend in your raised beds or container gardens for the optimal mix of nutrients and water retention.

Bags of mix are 1.5 cubic feet in size. The bags are heavy and our staff are always happy to load your vehicle.

  • $12/bag

Seed Start Mix

When starting plants, seedlings don’t have the same needs as established plants. When sprouts start, they prefer a light, fine-grained mix that promotes root growth over a dense, compact soil. Our Seed Start is a blend of coco coir, peat moss, perlite, AZWF castings, and insect frass. This ideal combination gives seedlings a loose soil structure with high microbial activity. It improves germination, reduces disease and damping off, and sets plants up for internal pest protection. Perfect for starting seeds or as a potting mix.

We sell seed start in 5 gallon boxes for $12 each.

Mulch

Mulching levels soil temperature, helps prevent weeds and pests, enhances soil fertility, and conserves moisture. We offer sustainable mulch by sourcing hard and softwoods from landscape waste through the City of Phoenix’s landfill diversion program.

Our darker-colored, 3” minus screened mulch is perfect for landscaping or as a garden topper. Still, wherever your mulch ends up, you can feel good about diverting waste from Arizona landfills and contributing to healthy plant growth.

Our U-Scoop area is always open with mulch!  Bring your own buckets or containers.

  • $1/5 gallon bucket scoop

Bags of mulch are 1.5 cubic feet in size.

  • $5/bag

Bulk is always available for delivery and pickup:

  • $20/cubic yard

City of Phoenix Compost

In April of 2017, the City of Phoenix opened the city's new 27-acre compost facility, complete with state of the art "turned aerated pile" (TAP) composting technology where large amounts of compost are made in nearly half the time of traditional composting.

The Arizona Worm Farm has partnered with the City of Phoenix to offer compost made through TAP.  You can find more details by visiting the City of Phoenix Composting & Green Organics Program website.

We only sell this product in bulk. Pick up any time or call us to schedule a delivery:
