Backyard Garden & Urban Farm Consulting Service

At the Arizona Worm Farm we want you to have the most productive garden possible using organic methods that are easy, chemical free, and hugely effective. For this reason we have launched our new Backyard Garden and Urban Farm Consulting Service with our farm manager, Farmer Clark Furlong. Clark has been gardening or farming in Arizona for over 25 years. Schedule a one hour visit and Clark will:

  • Teach you the foundation of successful growing---soil health. Find out from a Soil Food Web School trained expert how you can grow tasty and nutritious fruits and vegetables by working with nature, not against it, no fertilizers needed.
  • Show you how you can save time and money by using natural systems to do much of the work for you.
  • Discuss details specific to your yard, including; garden siting, microclimates, irrigation, shading, garden styles, pests, etc.
  • Help you diagnose garden and soil problems and explore solutions.
  • Help you understand the specific needs of and how to grow your favorite veggies. Such as when and where to plant, spacing, seasonality, should you plant seeds or transplants, harvest tips, etc...
  • Learn how easy it is to set up your own compost bin or in-garden worm composting bin so you can feed your plants for free.

After the visit Clark will send you a backyard report outlining his observations and recommendations.

About Clark: Clark has been farming or gardening in Arizona for over 25 years, with experience in organic, no-till, till, regenerative, aeroponics and aquaponics, and food safety. He is Soil Food Web School trained in soil biology, compost teas, and small to large scale biological compost production. He has managed Arizona Worm Farm for over four years.
