Our beloved bugs work hard on our farm, but they are only one part of our larger mission -- turning garbage, sunshine, and rainwater into food.
Using our nutrient-rich worm products, compost, soil amendments, and the help of our team of expert gardeners, we've outfitted our farm with a garden and greenhouse full of vegetables and veggie starts (nurtured plants you can transplant into your garden).
Fruits & veggies are available for purchase anytime we are open; supplies are always limited because we only sell what we can't eat ourselves. Transplants are available during regular hours of operation.
We include sustainability in every facet of our farm operation, including our garden and greenhouse. Our high-density garden covers approximately one acre. Our growers use no-till farming techniques and no chemicals, herbicides, or pesticides.
Our greenhouse is designed with a low energy heating system and solar-powered fans. We partnered with Ceres to create a heating system that pumps hot air from the top of our greenhouse into a pipe system that runs underground. The hot air heats the ground, and the heat slowly releases overnight, making our greenhouse 12-15 degrees above ambient temperature. The perfect environment for tomatoes and cucumbers to thrive all winter.
Our fall/winter season crops are harvested October through March, and spring/summer season crops are harvested March-June (with the exception of a few holding on for early fall harvesting.) Veggies and starters (nurtured plants you can transplant to your garden) can vary depending on dates and seasons. Please check our social media or contact us for the most accurate list of available products.
Is our produce organic? While we are not a certified organic farm, we are proud to say we use no herbicides or pesticides. Our vegetable farm employs a no-till methodology that encourages diverse biological activity in the soil, including our worms! The techniques we use to cultivate our growing beds naturally reduces pests and weeds commonly found in a vegetable farm.
