Worms to School

The Arizona Worm Farm wants to bring worms to your school! Our Worms to School Program is a great introduction for kids to the world of composting. Each 45min class session includes a presentation, worm composting education, guided hands-on building of a worm bin, ~500 worms (yes, every student (and teacher!) will get to touch a worm), and detailed instructions on how to care and maintain your new class pets.

Topics covered include:

  • An introduction to the Arizona Worm Farm and our mission of turning garbage into food
  • Worm education including: how/why worms eat our food scraps, general worm anatomy and reproduction, what/how can worms see/smell/hear/feel/taste, what do worms do in the soil, why are worms beneficial, and more!
  • Setting up a worm composting habitat
  • How to feed and water your worms
  • How to harvest worm castings and guidance on how to use them
  • Advice on how to name 500 worms

A single class can be scheduled for $200, and multiple classes on the same day can be scheduled for $150 per class.

Are you ready to schedule a presentation? Send us an email or give us a call to get your class scheduled!
